Webinar Description:

This program will discuss the physiology and pathophysiology of inflammation and ischemia that changes skin color. Detecting stage 1 and deep tissue pressure injury will be the major focus. Methods to augment visual inspection of skin will be addressed.  

Objectives:

  • Discuss reasons for changes in pigmentation of skin
  • Describe techniques to aid in inspection of pressure injury in darkly pigmented skin
