NPIAP's President, Bill Padula, PhD, MS, MSc, has been invited to lead a WHO panel on “Implications of the COVID-19 pandemic for patient safety.” Pressure Injuries were identified as one of five high-risk clinical areas. The goal will be to identify solutions to make care safer in future crises.
The panel will go through a series of systematic reviews of solutions to reduce the harm of Pressure Injuries. The solutions will be categorized into recommendations for policy, organizations, and practice.
The report, which will be published and presented at the Health Ministerial Summit in February 2023, and to the 76th World Health Assembly in May.
