CommitteesThe NPIAP has five mission committees which work to fulfill the mission of the NPIAP. Clinical Excellence CommitteeThe Clinical Excellence Committee’s mission aims to assist organizations to excel at preventing pressure injuries using evidence-based strategies. The committee is dedicated to creating and maintaining evidence-based resources to help clinicians evaluate quality prevention practices across the care continuum. Assessment tools are available to clinicians to determine the effectiveness of their current programs and drive recommended changes. Education CommitteeThe mission of the Education Committee is to positively impact pressure injury prevention and treatment strategies through the development and dissemination of a variety of educational resources for consumers, health care providers, and others. Educational resources may include conferences, monographs, webinars, podcasts and other educational media. Public Policy CommitteeThe mission of the Public Policy Committee is to promote the development and implementation of quality care public policies related to pressure injury prevention and management through collaborations with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Private Insurance Carriers, Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of the Surgeon General, and other federal and state policy making bodies. Research CommitteeThe mission of the Research Committee is to identify and implement strategies for addressing gaps in the state of the science in pressure injury etiology, prevention, treatment, education and to disseminate the results of research. Standards CommitteeThe mission of the Standards Committee is to develop consensus standards for products and services related to pressure injury prevention and treatment through collaboration with relevant stakeholders. These standards define particular requirements and essential performance of products and services for pressure injury prevention and treatment. |
